A Historic Neighbourhood.
With a Bold New Future.
Poised between yesterday and tomorrow, the area surrounding Fraser and 30th is one of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods. And now, it is set to regain its rightful prominence.
This central neighbourhood, close to downtown, but in a pocket all its own is in a prime Vancouver location. It is close to schools, transit routes, and unique shops and services along Fraser Street. Beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park is only a few blocks to the west. For years now, Vancouver homebuyers have been watching this area. Many see it as the next Main Street, poised for incredible revitalization, and right on the brink of a big change.
After all, the neighbourhood truly has a character all its own. You only have to walk along Fraser Street to see how representative it is of the people from many lands who built Vancouver. Here a Polish Community Centre, there an East Indian restaurant, and across the road, an antiques store selling Canadiana. Our personal favorite here at Ledingham McAllister, European Breads Bakery serves fresh perogies, bread, pastries, and biscotti (right across the street from the Century presentation centre). From a Chinese Beef, Pork Jerky store to a European deli, from a building’s carved stone pediment to a sidewalk mosaic, there is unmistakable evidence of the neighbourhood’s diverse cultural and ethnic mix. And just down Fraser Street at Kingsway, fresh new restaurants like Les Faux Bourgeois hint at the cool new energy that is infusing the area.
Established around the same time that George W. Ledingham first began building the city’s infrastructure, what was known as the Kensington-Cedar Cottage area has been a great Vancouver neighbourhood for as long as we have been around. And with Century’s stunning new homes and bright new retail and services, it is poised for a whole new era in its history. This is your chance to be a part of an historic, textured neighbourhood and an exciting new revitalization.
