8 Homes Sold In Two Weeks!
Why Should You Care?

Have you ever wondered why real estate developers advertise how many homes they sold in a particular week? You’ve probably always thought that it was to brag to the competition right? While we can’t speak for our competitor’s motives, we are very forthcoming with ours.

In the last two weeks, eight families have chosen to make Century their new home. And with a limited selection of homes available, we want you to realize your opportunity to own in Vancouver before it is too late. The Signature Collection of townhomes at Century is the only development in East Vancouver that has taken its design inspiration from single family homes. Why should you have to settle for a cookie-cutter home lacking charm and identity when you can have a brand new Townhome in one of Vancouver’s up and coming neighbourhoods to call your own?

The homes at Century have everything on your checklist:

  • Move-ins starting early this summer – Enjoy the outdoors in your own fenced yard
  • Close to Riley Park Community Centre, Queen Elizabeth Park, Trout Lake and John Hendry Park
  • Close to Sir Richard McBride Elementary School and Sir Charles Tupper Secondary – get your kids settled before the school year!
  • Starbucks, NoFrills and Shopper’s Drug Mart right at your doorstep
  • Direct access from your home to your two parking stalls in the secured underground parkade
  • Includes Kitchen Aid stainless steel appliances and engineered hardwood throughout the main level

You don’t have to compromise price or size or location. You CAN have it all at Century.  Eight families realized that in the last two weeks. We don’t want you to miss out on your opportunity. And THAT…. is why you should care!

The Signature Collection Grand Opening Happens Saturday, April 9th

April 5, 2011

The initial response to The Signature Collection townhomes at Century has been outstanding.

Our Grand Opening event is happening this Saturday, April 9th at noon sharp, but we have already been witness to an overwhelmingly positive response with these homes. People are eager to be part of this rapidly revitalizing neighbourhood – to be a part of this community that is keen to celebrate its past while keeping a sharp eye on the future.
Not only that. You understand that owning at The Signature Collection means owning not just a true Vancouver address, but a true Vancouver address built by a trusted Vancouver developer, Ledingham McAllister.

Once we began talking about our two display homes – The Jericho and London West – interest piqued even further. We can hardly wait to hear your reaction toward them. Each home is so incredibly different. Designed for two very different kinds of homeowners. But we are absolutely in love with them both.

We received numerous calls and e-mails from excited readers looking to book preview appointments, and we’re thrilled that you admire these homes as much as we do. We have had plenty of very happy visitors. What’s more, a selection of our street front Signature Collection townhomes, complete with private backyard patio and direct access to the beautiful courtyard garden, will be move-in ready this summer!

Visit us this Saturday, April 9th at noon sharp, and you could be beating the heat in your own brand new three-bedroom, two-bathroom home come summer. See you Saturday at 4507 Prince Albert Street, noon sharp!

Outdoor Living Inspired by a Historic Vancouver Neighbourhood

March 30, 2011

If you have visited the area around Prince Albert Street and East 29th Avenue, you will be familiar with the various exterior elements that ensure Century stands out as reflection of the surrounding historic neighbourhood – its combination of masonry, brick, natural birch wood and wrought iron accents, for example. But as usual, our efforts to create a home that fits seamlessly into an existing neighbourhood go far beyond the walls of the home itself.

Century’s Signature Collection is the quintessential mix of old and new, from its carefully selected filigree logo with its intricate design to its formal fenced front yards and walkways that lead up to a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired brick façade to the contemporary entry doors with distinct bronze hardware. Every last detail has been scrutinized. Every feature aims to capture the best qualities of a venerable era, while maintaining a distinctly modern edge. We are nothing less than meticulous.

With our much-anticipated Signature Collection townhomes, these efforts are perhaps most finely presented in the gorgeous courtyard garden.

Every single home in The Signature Collection affords direct access to the courtyard garden. It was essential, therefore, to create a retreat that was comfortable to navigate, beautiful to look at, and that embodied that heritage quality we worked so hard to present in the townhomes themselves.

Paved walkways complement the red brick used for all of the homes at Century. Individual flower beds, with a variety of shrubs and flora, make it easy to walk across the courtyard but still enjoy the sight and scent of lush blooms. When a garden and a home are of a similar style, they look like they belong together, and will stand the test of time. Century is certainly the epitome of timeless design.

With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two direct access parking spots and access to a beautifully landscaped garden, there’s no denying that these homes are the complete package.

Check out our brand new displays – The Jericho and London West

March 25, 2011

After months of planning, with customers constantly asking, “When will the Century Townhomes finally be for sale!?” we are excited to open the doors and share our sales centre and display homes with the public. We’ve literally been turning people away as eager shoppers attempted a sneak peak at our new model homes before they were even complete.

Clearly, touring new display homes is one of the most enjoyable aspects of shopping for a new home. We get that. In fact we feel the same way. What are the latest colour trends? Do I want my home to feel casual and easy or sophisticated and glamorous? Where do I buy that amazing rug and wallpaper? How can I make the most use out of this downstairs flex space? We know that these are the questions you ask yourself each time you step through the doors of what might become your new home.

Believe me, here at Ledingham McAllister we go out of our way to make sure that we are constantly offering up new inspiration and affordable design ideas, giving you additional tools to ensure that your home can become a reflection of your own style.

That’s also why we never create just one display home, and why we make sure that we never repeat something we’ve already done before! Where’s the fun in that?! At the Signature Collection at Century, we can hardly wait to hear your reaction to our two, brand new displays; The Jericho and London West.

The Jericho display takes its cues from its namesake… the beach! Is there anything more quintessentially Vancouver than strolling along any of the city’s sandy shores with our fabulous mountains as the ever-present backdrop? Casual, breezy, fresh, comforting, light and happy. These are moods we kept as our key emotional inspirations in this home’s beachy environment. Surf, sea shells, sand, beach glass, beach balls, sail boats, wide open skies, fluffy clouds, and driftwood worked as the driving vision for the colours, tones and textures you will find inside this home.

We hope that you will have no problem picturing a young family, or maybe a couple planning for children in their future, as they gather around the wide-open, roomy kitchen with its deluxe appliances, spacious granite counters, and sleek woodgrain cabinetry with full-height mosaic backsplash.
Downstairs leads you to a spacious home theatre with whimsical touches and comfortable row seating, while upstairs reveals three bedrooms that reflect the very different styles of each family member. While one room manages to make its young master feel like he’s on a full-blown camping expedition complete with boulders and a campfire, his baby sister’s room is outfitted as a charming nursery and features city views. The master bedroom reveals itself as a true calming retreat with distinctly playful retro flourishes.

In deliberate contrast, the London West display home reflects the tastes and sensibilities of a very different homeowner. Frequent international travellers, the residents of this home have children who have long since left the nest. Or maybe they broke the mould by opting to never have kids in the first place! These people are ready to indulge themselves with an environment that’s every bit as sophisticated and adult as their lifestyle. Outside, they love the formal fenced front yards and walkways that lead up to a solid brick facade with timber brackets. Attention to detail is everything – such as contemporary entry doors with its heavy bronze hardware. It looks impressive; the way arrival to a new home should.

A dramatic, graphic, and distinctly glamorous palette of black, white and muted metallics greets you inside. This home looks absolutely nothing like the home next door. And that’s the way we know you want it. Featuring heritage-chic white shaker cabinets complete with clear knobs and a retro black mosaic backsplash, this spacious kitchen begs for entertaining. We don’t just offer the same kitchen cabinets in a different colour, we offer two completely different kitchen concepts: Traditional and Contemporary.

A glass door leads you from the kitchen to a spacious back patio that begs for after-dinner cocktails to be consumed, or maybe you should head downstairs to the yoga lounge instead; it’s entirely healthier! This couple’s flair for drama continues as you note a very daring black and gold wallpaper on the stairs.
There are three bedrooms on the top floor: a roomy and practical office with old-world flair in one while a queen-sized bed offers accommodations for frequent guests in the second; the master overlooks the central landscaped courtyard.

Colourful and playful? Sleek and sophisticated? Which is closer to your own style? We encourage you to come explore these model homes and give us your feedback. In return, we will be happy to provide you with all the detailed information about paint colours, furniture stores, accessories, artwork, wallpapers, fabrics that were used in the creation of these two display homes.

A Richly Textured Neighbourhood

March 9, 2011

One of Vancouver’s original neighbourhoods, the Kensington-Cedar Cottage area is rich with history. It is something that captivated us right away, and prompted us to move on Century’s location.

Fraser Street, especially, is an eclectic mix of new and old. This is a place with character.

fraser_street_neighbourhood
Just down Fraser Street at Kingsway, Les Faux Bourgeois introduces a cool but cozy Parisian element to the neighbourhood. We think you will enjoy many a Friday night wining and dining at this funky French bistro.

Closer to home, The Outpost Café – the newest neighbourhood joint – is ideally situated a matter of blocks from Century. The cozy décor and homemade meals will warm your tummy, on even the rainiest of Vancouver days.

Nearby, nestled into beautiful Kensington Park and located at Knight Street and East 37th Avenue, Kensington Community Centre was opened in 1980 and offers a wide variety of recreational activities for all ages. Some of the facilities include a fitness centre, preschool, pottery studio, gymnasium, dance studio, meeting rooms and a leisure swimming pool perfect for beginners and lesson participants.

If you are patient, free tennis in Queen Elizabeth Park can be yours. A bank of 18 tennis courts is positioned at the southern edge of the park. You need not exert yourself, of course. The seasonally changing and beautifully planted Quarry Gardens at Queen Elizabeth Park continue to astound residents and tourists alike, and make for a wonderful leisurely stroll.

We know you value a quality neighbourhood as much as you value a quality home. We do as well – it’s why we fell in love with this area in the first place. At Century, you are perfectly positioned to enjoy the delights of a richly textured neighbourhood.

Now is the Time, Century is the Place

February 25, 2011

rendering

For years now, Vancouver homebuyers have been watching this area on Fraser Street. Many see it as the next Main Street, poised for incredible revitalization, and right on the brink of a big change. But watching and talking can only take you so far.

Now, thanks to Century’s stunning new homes and bright new retail and services, Fraser Street is embarking on a new era in its history. Your chance to be a part of an historic, textured neighbourhood and an exciting new revitalization has arrived.

Already, the community has noticed the emerging changes, and they are keen to be a part of them. Beehive Hair Lounge packed up its hair supplies and moved to Fraser Street this past November, and The Outpost Café recently opened its doors shortly thereafter. The street is a busy hub of activity during the day.

Yet, Fraser Street retains its distinct heritage and character. The European deli and the Polish Community Centre, for example, remain, and are central to maintaining the storied past of this neighbourhood.

It’s a rich history we at Ledingham McAllister were keen to pay homage to as well.

The epitome of timeless design, Century is a nod to the homes of the past, with chic contemporary updates. Designed by award-winning architect Raymond Letkeman, the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture reflects the historic neighbourhood through the use of masonry, brick, natural wood and decorative metal accents. Right down to Century’s ornate logo. The carefully selected filigree is a wonderful fusion of old meets new in its intricate design.

What’s more, when you purchase a home from Ledingham McAllister, you buy with the true confidence that comes from choosing a builder that has been in business for four generations – a history that guarantees you consistent quality, integrity and industry-leading performance.

Century affords unbelievable opportunities. It’s your chance to be a part of an historic revitalization. It’s your chance to own a true Vancouver address. Ultimately, it’s your chance to make a solid investment.

Century’s first phase is already 95 per cent sold out! But there is still a great selection of Phase 2 homes available, and our Century Signature Collection townhomes are launching this spring. Make sure to email signaturecollection@ledmac.com or call 604-873-4204 to priority register or to book an appointment for a sneak preview today!
