VIEW YOUR HOME TODAY….
We recently asked some of our Perspectives purchasers why they decided to purchase from us rather than our competition. Here are a few of their responses.
1. Pricing
In comparison to our local competition, our pricing for what we are offering is superior.
2. View
“We love that the skytrain is so close but we don’t want to see it running past our living room window!” Yes, unfortunately sometimes we have no choice but to see the skytrain from our home. But at Perspectives you don’t have to! What would you rather see from your home; a mountain, city lights, or the skytrain driving by? We think the choice is clear.
3. Location
- Just steps from skytrain which will fast track you to downtown.
- Located in a thriving community with access to recreational opportunities and amenities such as Brentwood Mall and Madison Centre
- Short drive or easy transit to BCIT and Simon Fraser University
4. Our homes (of course!)
- All homes in Perspectives are finished meaning there is no waiting amidst construction over the years to enjoy your community and location. Buying a home that is complete allows you the benefit of seeing, touching and walking into one of our homes and calling it your own. Even better, if you purchase in Perspectives now, you can move in right away!
- “You have more windows!”
- “Your balconies are so much bigger!”
Join the many others who have decided to make Perspectives home and contact us today. Our Presentation Centre is located at 2133 Douglas Road or call us at 604-294-4995. We are here everyday except Friday from 12pm until 5pm to help you find the perfect home!
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Rotary Club of Burnaby Celebrates Festival of Lights!
Brentwood Town Centre played host to an impressive Christmas tree display this past holiday season. Organized by The Rotary Club of Burnaby Deer Lake, this event, dubbed the Festival of Lights, comprised of 25 decorated trees displayed on the second level of the mall until December 29th. The public were invited to vote for their favourite decorated Christmas tree to help in their efforts to provide local needy children with winter boots. Each tree was sponsored by a local company or Rotary club, with sponsors decorating themselves, or recruiting local schools to do so.
The Club hoped to raise $10,000 for its programs, including its Boots For Kids campaign that provides warm winter boots for children in need at local inner city schools.
We were honoured to be a part of this fun and meaningful event. Our marketing team, spearheaded by SVP Manuela Mirecki, designed a Sugar Plum Fairy tree decked with pink tulle, hand-made oversized bon bons, fairy wings, silver doves and a sparkling tiara on top!
We had so much fun participating in this event. And we were excited to learn that our tree had received the most votes!

Wouldn’t You Rather Buy a Home Than a Floor Plan?
July 19, 2011

See your home in a new way – completed! Buying a home at Perspectives allows you the benefits of seeing, touching and walking into one of our homes and calling it your own. Perspectives IS the best value in Burnaby and the best way to buy.
Becoming a Home
A look into Ledingham McAllister’s specialized knowledge of interior design.
February 21, 2011
When it comes to designing display homes at Ledingham McAllister, attainability is one of our key considerations. As far as we are concerned, you don’t need to spend a mint to create a home that is beautiful, comfortable and stylish.
We want to entice our homebuyers with a showhome that is well within their means. So we take great care to include home accents and furniture pieces sourced from places such as Moes and Home Sense along with specialty items from smaller boutique stores.
We also strive to create looks that can be reproduced in any home, and work to give our homeowners the inside scoop on helpful decorating tips. Things like:
- Using an oversized mirror rather than a painting to bring a feature wall to life, and open up a room. In our Villa Beau display home at Perspectives, a beautiful glass mirror takes centre stage in the living room.
- Purchasing apartment-style furniture designed for condo living. These pieces create a home that is both functional and aesthetic in look and feel. The thin, sleek chrome base and grey wool upholstery of the Joly chair from Parliament in Gastown in our bachelor pad – the second showhome at Perspectives – is a perfect example.
- Having fun with details beyond the usual accent pieces. Some of the permanent fixtures in your home can become some of the most exciting details. In our bachelor pad, we introduced custom-made frosted glass panel doors to cover the washer/dryer unit. It is a striking finish to the entranceway.
Ultimately, we want our showhomes to inspire homebuyers and help them facilitate their design sense. You can also learn more about our distinct approach to design in this week’s The Vancouver Sun.
Enjoy!
In-Building Sales Centre Opening
Our Brand New Show Homes & In-Building Sales Centre Open Saturday, Jan 29th
January 25, 2011
If you have spent any time navigating this site, you will have noticed that we have talked a lot about Perspectives’ two showhomes. We cannot help it. We are so excited about these two beautiful homes.
At Ledingham McAllister, we are always looking to take things to the next level. It’s not often you’ll find other developers in the city choosing to spend this amount of time and money on the presentation of their showhomes. But we take pride in going that extra step, which is why we have we chosen to present such distinctly different showhomes from two very different perspectives – one for the ladies and one for the gents – in the same building.
We are thrilled that the grand reveal of Perspectives Villa Beau and GQ-inspired suites this Saturday, January 29th is something our potential homeowners and our team at Ledingham McAllister can experience together.

We are also looking forward to showing our guests around our brand new in-building sales centre. After you have explored our one and two bedroom showhomes, perused the array of books ready for lending in the billiards library and checked out the residents’ gym, you will be able visit our sales centre and learn a little bit more about Perspectives. With an in-building sales centre, you will have the opportunity to speak to our sales representatives and ask any pertinent questions while they are fresh in your mind. Here, you can also learn more about Ledingham McAllister. With over 100 years of experience in the business, trust us when we say we have plenty to share.
So if you have been eyeing Perspectives, come on down here. Sales have been brisk since our pre-sale launch back in March. But there are still plenty of incredible homes available, and of course, we are now move-in ready.
The in-building opening event begins at noon sharp this Saturday, January 29th.
You don’t want to miss it.

Pulling it All Off
January 19, 2011
The last-minute details and finishing touches.
We’ve been busy. The countdown to Perspectives’ brand new in-building sales centre and two showhomes has begun. Our Grand Opening is set to happen January 29th at noon sharp. So we have been bustling about, working hard to bring all of the last-minute details together.
Janine, our amazing interior designer from i3 Design Group, has been sourcing the perfect finishing touches for our Villa Beau and GQ-inspired showhome interiors.
We selected a warm paint colour for the living area in our lady’s suite, and a subtly printed wallpaper for the main wall in the master bedroom. To add a bit of whimsy and bring the rooms together, Janine has included throw cushions with a decorative scrolling leaf pattern. Bed linens in soft neutrals and greys reflect the colour palette. Soft glass accents throughout add that delicate touch of femininity that this home requires.

The high-fashion bachelor pad, on the other hand, incorporates a mix of browns, navys and yellows. Here, the space demands clean straightforward lines. The furniture is simple, while remaining comfortable and inviting. Janine has selected a Burberry-inspired plaid upholstery to add a bit of fun and colour to this home, and rich dark accents to keep our man’s suite cozy.
Bringing it all together comes down to more than design, however.
The video team has, of course, been documenting it all. (You can look forward to the second installment of our Becoming a Display Suite Series coming very soon.)
Ward McAllister has also been carefully inspecting the final upgrades and changes made to Perspectives. Everything needs to be up to snuff for opening day.
In the office, our marketing department has been diligently spreading the word about our in-building opening as well. We have been coordinating newspaper ads, we are launching a radio announcement and we have been talking day and night about Perspectives. We are truly thrilled to have been able to work on such an exceptional project. We want everyone to be able to see why we are so proud.
Needless to say, it has been an eventful few weeks. We expect the next few days will be just as hectic, but it will be worth it – and we think you will agree.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
With Ledingham McAllister You Get More
January 12, 2011
How do you know if you are choosing the right developer?
When they continually surprise you with more than you expected!
The developer always reserves the right to make changes to a project. It is a standard clause in any presale contract when you choose to buy a presale home. At Ledingham McAllister, however, our team prefers to refer to these changes as delivering more than people expect – because that’s what they always are.
We have the utmost respect for our homebuyers, and we are always willing go that extra mile to invest more time and more money on a home, even when it has already been purchased.
At Perspectives, for example, we replaced the terraced garden near the lobby doors with a stunning multi-tiered, salmon water feature designed by Coast Salish artist Jody Broomfield. We added to the landscaping as well, to give it more character, and ensure it reflected the rolling hills of the surrounding community.
Inside, the improvements continued. In the lobby, we added extra millwork and vein-cut marble around a sleek gas fireplace to create an entryway that is truly dramatic, while remaining cozy and inviting. Across the hall, Perspectives’ conference room was upgraded to a billiards library, complete with a wenge billiards table and a fully stocked lending library for our homeowners.
At Ledingham McAllister, we consistently surpass our homeowners’ expectations, and we are determined to keep it that way. There is nothing quite like the reaction of a homebuyer whose expectations have been completely blown away. We have especially loved seeing peoples’ reactions when they first walk into Perspectives.
Get a first-hand look at some of our upgrades at Perspectives and listen to what John O’Donnell, Senior VP of Development, and Manuela Mirecki, Senior VP of Marketing, have to say in this latest video, Going Above and Beyond.
The Perspectives Fountain
January 5, 2011
When it came to the entryway at Perspectives, we wanted something original and eye-catching, something that our homeowners would be excited to talk about with guests, and admire each time they returned home. It was important for us to introduce a design element that paid homage to Perspectives’ natural surroundings and the area’s First Nations heritage because at Ledingham McAllister we believe you can build in a meaningful way.
So, we commissioned Coast Salish artist Jody Broomfield to create a unique water feature for the front entrance. The original idea for a terraced garden was replaced by a stunning multi-tiered water feature that includes spectacular carved metal salmon leaping upstream toward their spawning ground designed, of course, by Jody.
Exposed to traditional Salish art since he was eight years old and a practicing artist since 1999, Jody is well-known for his carved wood masks and panels. In 2008, he completed a limited edition 14k gold coin for the Canadian Mint titled “Four Seasons Moon Mask.” With the Olympics came the opportunity to design the logo graphics for the Four Host First Nations Vancouver 2010 Aboriginal Pavilion and the chance to custom design a Steinway piano, which was featured in various concerts and performances.
When it comes to the Perspectives fountain, Jody is happy to have created a piece that will last a lifetime—a piece that people will always be able to come back and enjoy. We couldn’t agree more.
See what else Jody has to say about the design in this exclusive video.
How About a Billiards Library?
December 22, 2010
Forget the Meeting Room. How About a Billiards Library?
Yes, it’s true! At Perspectives, we went ahead and upgraded the common meeting area to a sleek looking billiards library for our homeowners.
Imagine the reactions you will get when you tell your friends your new move-in ready home at Perspectives now includes a billiards library in addition to the fireside TV lounge, private gym and inviting lobby, complete with vein-cut marble fireplace.
We think there will be a few wide eyes and smiling faces. Maybe even a few self-made invitations to check out your new abode.
Now, imagine yourself there, in the billiards library—pool cue in hand.

A rich wenge wood billiards table takes centre stage. The upholstery of the surrounding bar stools has been carefully selected to match with the charcoal grey felt on the table. Feel like sitting out for a game? No problem! There are enough stools and bar-height, table-tops for a group of eight to enjoy the billiards library comfortably.
Expansive windows on the north and east side of the room capture natural light; with double-height drapery panels in chocolate brown adding a touch of warmth.
Against the main wall stands Perspectives’ custom-made library. Designed by Janine Wilson of i3 Design Group, the library is also made of wenge and a perfect complement to the room. Fully stocked with books for our homeowners to borrow, here you will find everything from Danielle Steele to John Grisham to Tom Clancy, even a Roget’s Thesaurus. All of which are yours to peruse and return when finished. Carefully selected decorative vases, custom-made, frosted glass panels and recessed custom lighting are the final touches in this eight-feet tall unit, and make the billiards lounge feel as it should—like an extension of your home.
Opening your eyes to new possibilities in sophisticated living. This is Perspectives.
We Want You to Feel Proud of Your Investment
December 30, 2010
At a time when other developments are cutting back, Ledingham McAllister is forging ahead to provide our homeowners with something more.
It doesn’t matter whether this is your first home or your third home we want you to feel proud of your investment, which is why we went ahead and made substantial upgrades to the amenities and surrounding features at Perspectives.
Two months prior to the completion of Perspectives, we did a walk-thru of the building and thought, “How can we blow our homeowners away?”
The answer was simple: Exceed our homeowners’ expectations and give them more than they were expecting!

First, we added to the landscaping to give it more character. We have long-been committed to North Burnaby, and we have always admired its rolling hills. You will notice that the landscaping at Perspectives has been carefully carried out to reflect the surrounding community.
We also replaced the terraced garden near the lobby doors with a stunning multi-tiered water feature. Designed by Coast Salish artist Jody Broomfield, the fountain is sure to catch your eye with its school of spawning salmon jumping upstream.
In the lobby, we added extra millwork and vein-cut marble around a sleek gas fireplace to create an entryway that is truly dramatic, while remaining cozy and inviting. Across the hall, Perspectives’ common meeting area was upgraded to a billiards lounge, complete with a fully stocked lending library for our homeowners.
Our residents’ lounge received special attention as well. A three-sided, vein-cut marble gas fireplace takes centre stage, encircled by plush armchairs perfect for casual conversation. To the far side of the lounge, the opportunity for some friendly competition presents itself in the form of a ping-pong table and a dartboard. The ideal room to book out for a large party or shower, the residents’ lounge at Perspectives also features a built-in, half kitchen complete with a granite countertop for prepping, a sink and a small fridge.
The upgrades continued with custom-made entry and common area doors. Striking glass doors with easy-to-pull bar handles only seemed appropriate to give Perspectives that final polished look.
Nestled adjacent to a protected stream beside a three-acre park in the burgeoning Brentwood neighbourhood, we know this place is special. Perspectives is the only brand new high-rise in North Burnaby that is complete and move-in ready, and our homeowners deserve to show it off with pride.

Our Homes Are Inspired By You
December 23, 2010
Every new collection of homes we build is designed to exceed our homeowners’ needs and wants, especially when it comes to our interiors. Our design inspiration starts and ends with the homeowner. Period.
With that in mind, we decided to do something extra-special with the display home at Perspectives. Rather than the standard single display home, we’re going ahead and creating two stunning display homes, distinctly tailored to our prospective purchasers. For the ladies, an overtly feminine, old-world, luxurious suite. Think: Villa Beau. For the gents, a sophisticated, high-styled bachelor pad. Think: GQ.
Then the fun begins! From something as simple as a ribbon wrapped around a perfume box we can take our inspiration even further. We try and get into the minds of the people who might be living here. A colour palette of soft neutrals and greys works to balance out the textured wallpaper in our lady’s suite. A Burberry-inspired plaid is the perfect fabric choice for our high-fashion bachelor. The colours, the textures, the patterns, the accents—every element is selected with purpose and thought toward you, our potential homeowner.
What’s more, we’ll be taking you through the entire process on camera, starting with our inspiration and conversations with interior designer Janine Wilson of i3 Design to the design of the suites themselves, right through to the last-minute finishing touches. So make sure to check back for the latest updates and videos.
Without further ado, here’s the first blush at our Becoming a Display Suite Series.
It’s All in the Details
December 17, 2010
The inside scoop on some of the little details that go into your new home.
You know what you’re spending on your new home, but do you know what you are actually getting when you purchase a brand new home?

Sure, you’re expecting the two-bedroom floorplan you selected. There will be hand-set ceramic tile flooring in the entry foyer, kitchen, en-suite and main bathrooms, and you know that the light colour scheme includes traditional, heritage white shaker-style cabinets. You are expecting sleek pendant lighting hanging over the granite breakfast bar and Taymor satin-nickel finish hardware for a polished look in the ensuite.
But there are, in fact, all sorts of extra quirky details that go into making your home gorgeous and put together before you walk through the door—none of which will make it onto your features sheet.
- Every carpet laid in a Perspective’s home is “manicured,” ensuring the fibres where two pieces of carpet meet are blended together. The fibres are carefully combed, trimmed and brushed at the seam to help conceal the join.
- Our millworkers spend hours carefully attending to the wood accents throughout Perspectives. The grain of every piece of wood paneling in Perspectives’ soaring lobby is perfectly aligned with the next and every wall is flush to the touch. Sleek baseboards and door mouldings are measured to join at just the right angle.
- When move-in day arrives, we will, of course, walk you through your brand new home with a checklist, making sure everything meets, if not exceeds, your expectations. But before you even arrive, we will have carried out our own inspection, testing all appliances, fixtures and window coverings to ensure they are in working order.
Probably one of the best things about purchasing a brand new home at Perspectives is the knowledge that no one else has ever lived there. Your beautiful new space is all yours to define, but knowing how much care and detail has gone into creating this place called home surely sweetens the deal.
Are You Ready For The Holidays? We Are.
December 15, 2010
Perspectives will be move-in ready for the holidays!
Things have been moving along merrily at Perspectives since we celebrated the final concrete pour in April. Now, we have even more exciting news to share: Perspectives will be move-in ready for December!
Imagine experiencing the warmth of the holidays from the comforts of home – your brand new home.
Entertain your friends and family with a festive feast. Your kitchen – a chef’s dream with its self-cleaning, slide-in gas range, chic stainless steel appliances and hand-set imported tile – will make cooking that turkey dinner a delight.
Even better, Perspectives open-concept layout will allow you to converse with your guests, even when you are busy basting.
Twinkling lights and glittering ornaments are always something to be admired at this time of year, but they will take on a new radiance adorning the tree in your spacious new living room. Outside, the ever-present panoramas will form the backdrop to your holiday entertaining.
At Ledingham McAllister, we set out to build homes designed for living. With that in mind, you can guarantee that all of the finer details, from a carefully selected colour palette to designer pulls, will be taken care of, which means you can spend your time getting the cookies baked and the wreath hung before Old Saint Nick has even had a chance to check his naughty or nice list.
Take a look at some recent photos, and see how far Perspectives has come.
Construction Update – November 2010
A Milestone in the Progress of Building Perspectives
June 1, 2010
When we held our Grand Opening in March, Perspectives was already near completion. Today, we are thrilled to announce that the structure of the building is now complete.
On April 30th, the last concrete pour took place – way up on the 33rd floor overlooking the North Shore Mountains all the way to the downtown core, and we took the opportunity to celebrate!
An on-site barbeque with a full pig roast only seemed appropriate for such a milestone in the progress of building Perspectives. So that’s what we did.
The event was a great success with Marcon and Ledinham McAllister staff – all of whom have dedicated so much time to the Perspectives project – making up the guest list.
Thanks to all who attended. We’re looking forward to the next big step.

Perspectives Grand Opening Was a Great Success
April 1, 2010
Our Grand Opening for Perspectives was held on March 20th & 21st and the response was incredible.
Line-ups stretched down the block, all weekend long. Evidently, a striking high-rise home with breathtaking views, the inherent quality of a proud 100-year history, and a connected North Burnaby neighbourhood truly mean something to a lot of people.
Of course, being able to move in this year is huge.
A large number of our new homeowners at Perspectives were first-time buyers. Many of them told us that they had heard nothing but great reviews of Ledingham McAllister’s quality (naturally this makes us very happy). They felt more secure buying their first home in a building that was nearly complete – in a tower that they could see coming together with their own eyes. In these uncertain times, this feeling of security is crucial.
We are thrilled to work with people to secure their first home. We understand that this is one of the biggest steps – and most important decisions – you will ever make. We take our time, and make sure that this process is as painless, smooth, and worry-free as possible. If you need a few visits with us before you are ready to make your move, we understand.
We’ve even negotiated a special mortgage rate with TD, to make sure you qualify for the best deal you can possibly get on your financing.
Louise Barbour, our Sales Manager at Perspectives, has 15 years of experience helping people get into homes that they absolutely love. Louise has been with Ledingham McAllister for ten of those years, and she knows this neighbourhood very well: she sold the entire Brentwood Gate community (across the street from Perspectives) as well as Memento. She understands what buyers here are looking for.
So if you have been eyeing Perspectives, come on down here. Yes, sales have been brisk so far. But there are still plenty of incredible homes available, and we promise to make the experience a warm one for you.
Best of all, when the process is all done, you can look forward to moving into your very own landmark high-rise home this year!
